Privacy Policy

What we collect

• Account details: name, email, password (stored encrypted) or Google sign-in.
• Family profile: family name, photos, home city, bio, languages, parents’ and children’s first names, ages, genders, professions and interests — only what you choose to add. You decide which details other families can see.
• Location: your approximate or precise location when you allow it, used to show nearby playdates, pins, travel times and alerts. You can hide your exact location in Safety & verification.
• Content you share: posts, comments, photos, playdates, pins, reviews, lists, messages, voice notes and shared live locations.
• Calls: voice/video calls are connected by our provider Daily.co; we store only call times and duration, never recordings.
• ID verification (optional): handled by Stripe Identity. Stripe processes your ID document and selfie; we only store the result (verified or not) and the date.
• Device data: push-notification tokens and basic technical logs needed to run the service securely.

How we use it

• To run TravelChild: profiles, matching playdates by age and area, messaging, calls, reminders and trip planning.
• To keep families safe: verification badges, reports, blocking and moderation by our safety team.
• To send notifications and emails you can turn off (playdate reminders, connection requests, alerts).

We do not sell your personal information and we do not show third-party advertising based on your data.

Who we share with

• Other families: only the profile details you choose to show, and content you post or send.
• Service providers: hosting and database, Stripe (identity verification), Daily.co (calls), OpenStreetMap/Photon (maps and place search), our email provider, and Kiwi.com via Travelpayouts when you tap “Find flights” (we may earn a commission; we don’t share your profile with them).
• Legal: when required by law or to protect the safety of children and families.

Children

TravelChild is for parents and guardians aged 18+. Children do not have accounts. Parents control any information about their children and can edit or remove it at any time.

Your choices & rights

• Edit or hide profile details, and turn location, push alerts and reminder emails on or off.
• Block or report any family.
• Delete your account anytime in Safety & verification → Delete my account. This permanently removes your profile, posts, playdates you host, messages and connections.
• Ask us for a copy of your data or to correct it by emailing travelchild.app@gmail.com.

Security & retention

Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). We keep your data while your account is active and delete it when you delete your account, except where we must keep limited records for safety or legal reasons (e.g. reports about harmful behaviour).

Changes

We’ll update this page and the date above if this policy changes, and tell you in the app about important changes.
